Nestled in the picturesque drive way of the East Coast Road, AMET offers stunning views of the deep blue sea, gently cradled by the Bay of Bengal. The International Association of Maritime Universities counts this Indian university as its sole member. AMET began modestly in 1993, with just 14 cadets shaped for a career in the merchant navy through a Higher National Diploma program in marine engineering. Quality, devotion, expertise, and excellence were its cornerstones. The college was recognized as deemed to be university in August 2005. It provides education, development and research to the students.
There are faculty in various departments of the AU that includes the maritime department, advanced computer science department, commerce department, liberal arts department, engineering and technology department, computer science department, life science department and humanities department. AMET provides an ocean of knowledge for these students, ranging from diploma to doctorate programs. With an outstanding facility for co-curricular, extracurricular, and research and development activities, AMET obtained its ISO 9001:2015 QMS compliance certificate from the esteemed and well-known DET NORSKE VERITAS, Norway.
In September 2021, the University Grants Commission's independent National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) awarded AMET an A grade after evaluating it. The accreditation, which is valid from September 13, 2021, to September 13, 2022, is a sign of the quality criteria set by the NAAC.
The college was built to provide leading management education to the students. The college has state of the art infrastructure, classrooms, swimming pool, teaching faculty, fully finished classrooms and indoor and outdoor games. These resources are all supported by an environment that is both conducive to learning and well-equipped for practical training.
The Madras University provides a range of research and postgraduate programs in a number of political science, physics, and chemistry specializations. The institution also provides distance learning courses under the choice-based credit system (CBCS), which have been approved by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB).
The management of the admissions procedure for potential students wishing to be admitted to the university falls under the purview of the AMET Admission Department. In addition to coordinating the application process, the Department also examines applications, administers entrance exams, and decides which applicants to admit via the appropriate channel depending on their academic standing, ACET Rank (AMET Common Entrance Test), and other factors.
Prospective students can also get advice and information from the admissions department regarding the university, the application procedure, the prerequisites for the program, financial aid for education, advice on education loans, and other relevant topics. To assist students in making well-informed decisions about entering the university, we offer information sessions and campus tours.
The university's admissions department collaborates closely with other departments to guarantee the effectiveness and efficiency of the admissions procedure. All things considered, the Admission Department is essential to drawing and admitting eligible students to the University as well as spreading awareness of the AMET's goals and principles among the general public.
The Additional Registrar is in charge of the admissions department, which is backed by the Head of Indian Admissions, the Admission Coordinator, the Admission Counselor, and marketing professionals who are employed throughout India.
