MBA CMAT Exam

CMAT is officially known as the Common Management Aptitude Test. It is considered as an important entrance exam to get admission to the management college throughout the country. The entrance was conducted by the AICTE or All India Council for Technical Education before 2018 and after that it has been conducted by the NTA or National Testing Agency. The exam is conducted on the computer and is a computer based test.

Eligibility Criteria for CMAT

• • The students are required to have a graduation or equivalent degree from any recognized institution.
• • The students in their final years can also apply for CMAT and have to present the scorecard of the final year by admission.
• • The students can have a graduation or equivalent degree in any field or subjects.
• • The minimum percentage to take part in the examination has not been declared by the examination conduct centers.
• • There is no age limit set by the examination conduct center to give the exam.

Syllabus of CMAT

The paper of CMAT is divided into five sections.

Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation : This portion consists of questions that are from speed, ratio and proportion, averages, time and distances, profit and percentages. The questions are in the form of tables, line charts, pie charts, bar graphs and venn diagrams. This section can be taken out easily only with adequate practice by a student.

Logical Reasoning : This portion consists of questions that are from logical sequence, binary logic, clocks and calendars, syllogism, coding and decoding, number and letter series, puzzles, seating arrangement and blood relations. This section can be taken out easily if the student has a logical reasoning and sharp mindset.

Language Comprehension : This portion consists of questions that are from reading comprehension and grammar. The questions are in the form of parajumbles, sentence correction, vocabulary based and fill in the blanks. The student needs to have a sharp memory to take out this section.

General Awareness : This portion consists of questions that are from current affairs of national and international economy, Indian constitution, politics, culture, economics, personalities in news, sports news, history, geography and science from everyday life. This section can be taken out by the students easily if they have the knowledge of general knowledge and they engage themselves to read current affairs.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship : This portion consists of questions from important events, business and corporate affairs, policies of entrepreneurship and business promotion, general economy, budget and economic survey, new schemes and investments, startups and current affairs. The students can take this section out if they keep themselves engaged about the news and affairs related to the business field.

CMAT: Things to Know

• The application form needs for the exam to be submitted online.
• The registration window stays open for a month.
• The students have to fill out all the details.
• They have to mention the active mail and phone number.
• They have to pay the application fee before the deadline.
• The results are declared after 1 week of giving the exams.
• The students can attempt the exam in three attempts.
• They can take the exam many times.

Registration Process

• The students have to register on the official website.
• They have to generate the Login ID and Password for the reference.
• They have to upload the requested documents by the registration committee.
• At last, the students need to check the form correctly.
• The students need to pay after that.

Admit Card

• The students need to check in for admit card details.
• They have to check for the admit card when the registration window gets closed.
• The students have to take a printout of the admit card that will be needed in the examination center.

Important Things for CMAT

• The students always need to have their admit card along with them.
• They also need to carry a valid identity along with them that can be asked by the examination center.
• They are not allowed to take calculators, smart watches, phones, tablets and any other electronic devices along with them inside the center.
• They are not allowed to have metallic jewelry and accessories inside with them.
• They are required to mention all the courses and subjects of MBA.
• They are not allowed to take bags, clothes with lots of pockets, jackets and closed footwear inside the examination hall.
• They are not allowed to have any eatables and beverages with them inside the center.

CMAT Results

• The students can look for the results from the official website.
• They will have a message and email received to them to check the results.
• The students can have a copy of results with them for future references.
• They are required to check the results on time to get the college of their choice.

Preparation for CMAT

The preparation for CMAT should be done adequately and you need to have some things in mind for the exam.

• The notes are important. They need to have formulas and notes of important things that may be needed for revision.
• The students need to formulate the habit to read newspapers, magazines and other things for new words and have quick reading ability.
• The students have to practice the abilities and improve the speed for quick time management that is needed in the exam.
