MBA XAT Exam

The full form of XAT is the Xavier Aptitude test. It is a high level entrance examination taken by students to get admission in MBA. The exam is conducted by the Xavier Labour Relation Institute from Jamshedpur throughout the country. Over the years, this institute has been trusted to conduct this exam and identify students who deserved to become management students. This exam is not less than CAT and is considered a hard entrance examination by the students. Before 2017, the exam was conducted on papers and after that it has become a computer based exam or online entrance test.

Eligibility for XAT

The exam taken by any student needs to have a few things in mind.

• • The students need to have a bachelor degree for XAT with 50% marks for general students, 45% for SC, ST, PwD and DT students.
• • The degree must have been gained from a recognized institution that has come under the statutory body so that it qualifies the students as a graduate.
• • The students who have completed their degrees and if they are in the final year of college need to show the degree certificate to prove that they have been studying from a recognized institution.

XAT Syllabus

The students need to take care of studying for a long time to clear this exam. This makes sure that the students can clear this exam and create values for the different colleges.

Quantitative Ability : This portion consists of questions that arise from arithmetics, algebra and geometry. The students need to prepare this section with hard work and time management skills so that they can easily take the section out.

Verbal and Logical Ability : This portion consists of questions that arise from critical reasonings, reading comprehensions, interface-based questions and sentence corrections. The students are able to take this section out easily if they have a keen eye.

Decision-Making Section : This portion consists of questions that arise from dilemmas, situational questions and managerial issues. The students are tested on how well that can make a decision and it is the base for this section.

GK Section : This portion consists of questions that arise from politics, economics and geography. The students can take this section out easily if they have a practice of grabbing new knowledge of general knowledge and have a capacity of remembering them at difficult times.

Essay Topics : This portion consists of questions that arise from issues and current affairs. The students only have to prepare the current knowledge and general knowledge to take this section out. They are tested with the knowledge they have in current affairs.

XAT: Things to Know

• The application form has to be submitted online.
• The registration window stays open for a period of 1.5 months.
• The students have to fill all the details asked.
• They have to pay the application fee before the deadline.
• The students have to give the active mail and phone number for every detail.
• The result is declared a month after the exam.

Registration Process

• The students have to register on the official website for the exam.
• They need to generate the login ID after that.
• They have to upload all the documents that are asked.
• The students can also give the information about the experiences they have.
• They have to mention all the colleges and courses in which they want to pursue an MBA.
• At last, the students can again check the application form completely.
• After that, they can make a payment for the examination.

Admit Card

• The students always need to check in between the dates for the admit card.
• They have to check that after the registration window is closed for all.
• The students have to take the printout of the admit card for the examination center.

Important Things for XAT

There are some important things that a student should always keep in mind before going out to take the examination. Apart from studying hard, they also need to have these things in mind.

• The admit card should be there with the students always.
• They also need to have a document along with them as it is mandatory in various examination centers throughout the country.
• They can’t take a calculator, smart watch, phone, tablets and any other electronic devices along with them inside the center that is allotted to them.
• They do not need to have metallic jewelry or accessories with them inside the center.
• They have to mention all the colleges and courses in which they want to pursue an MBA.
• They are not allowed to take bags, clothes with a lot of pockets, jackets and closed footwear with them inside the examination hall.
• They are not allowed to have any eatables and beverages with them inside the examination hall.

XAT Results

• The students can look for the results from the official website.
• They will have the message and e-mail received to check the results received to them before.
• The students have to take a copy of the result with them for future purposes.
• They are required to check the results on time to get the college of their choice.

Preparation for XAT

The students always need to have some things in mind for the CAT examination and smooth operation of the exam.

• The notes are important. They need to have short formulas and notes of important things that are needed on the day of examination for revision.
• They need to formulate a habit to read newspapers, magazines and other things for new words and quick reading ability that is needed in the examination.
• The students have to practice their abilities everyday and have to improve the speed for a quick time so that they can also have some time left to revise the things that they have done in the examination.
• The students also can make a list of strong and weaker areas from this and can maintain a schedule according to that for the time they need to give in the exam hall accordingly.
• The students are also required to take a healthy break in between their study sessions to give the brain the time to rest and they can manage a good speed with that.
