Formerly known as Sri Ramachandra University, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER), Chennai, is a Deemed University. According to NIRF 2023, the institute is ranked 21st in medicine and 57th in university. More than fifty undergraduate and graduate programs in physiotherapy, allied health sciences, biomedical sciences, management, etc. are available at the university. Admission is determined by the institute's cutoff standards and merit.
Ranked among the best health sciences universities in India, Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Management Sciences (SRFMS) is a division of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER), a Formerly known as Sri Ramachandra University, it is deemed to be a university. SRIHER has received accreditation (cycle-3) from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an A++ Grade. The UGC has classified SRIHER as an Indian university in category I and it is rated 28th out of all universities in the NIRF-2020. One of India's top management centers, SRFMS was founded in 2001 and offers some of the most distinctive programs in hospital and health systems management.
The college provides a BBA in Hospital and Health System Management for three years. They provide a range of electives in the program. Along with it, MBA In Hospital and Health System Management is provided for two years. The college also has PhD programs for full time and part time. The college provides the students with internships, project works and various learning opportunities. The campus's two hospitals, SRMC and University Hospital, are a huge benefit since they give students practical training. Faculty visits from IIMs and IITs significantly enhance SRFMS's academic reputation.
In the State's top management schools, SRFMS has been recognized by the Business Standard B-School Survey, 2018–2020. Since 2019, it has maintained its position in the "Platinum Category" according to the AICTE-CII Industry-Institute Survey. In order to study and acquire methods and expertise for the benefit of students, it establishes partnerships with exemplary academic institutions and healthcare organizations such as ICAI, XLRI, Qur Health, and Mellon AI. It also promotes cooperative research and training for mutual gain. The Faculty has now ventured into the realm of executive education by offering working healthcare professionals a one-year Executive Diploma in Healthcare Management.

Library : Rich study and reference material is available thanks to a sizable collection of engineering, medical, and related health sciences books, periodicals, and books that have been accumulated during a 34-year period. The Library has a vast collection of textbooks covering 62627 medical and related health sciences, 5195 engineering and technology books categorized according to the "Dewey Decimal Classification," 407 print national and international journals, and 350 online journals that are accessible via remote access from any location at any time.
Transportation : SRU offers a comprehensive range of transportation services through its well-established transportation department. This transport's coverage area is not limited to the areas in and around Chennai; it also encompasses the adjacent districts of Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Vellore. Occasionally, it travels to farther locations, such as Rasipuram, for special events like Founder's Day health camps.
Hostel : There are distinct accommodations for male and female students in the hostel, totaling 3,608 rooms.
