XIME Bangalore, formerly known as the Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, is a wholly residential campus that was founded in 1991. The NBA and ACBSP have accredited Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, and it has received AICTE approval. The institute belongs to AIU as well. The Times 2022 ranks XIME Bangalore 47th for MBA. Bangalore, Chennai, and Kochi are the three cities where XIME maintains campuses. The students can choose from the Business Analytics and other courses of management and other streams that are PG, PhD and Certificate in the college.
The college is an autonomous institution with an MBA as a flagship program. There are various undergraduate, graduates courses available in the college. The students can choose from a variety of certificate courses such as business administration, computer applications, information technology, liberal arts, hospitality and tourism, commerce and finance, mathematics and liberal arts.
In management circles, the institute's founding narrative is one that is frequently discussed. The unannounced creation of XIME in May 1991 was the result of two strong impulses. One was deeply personal, born out of a promise as much as a fantasy. The other was entrepreneurial, the power that raises lowly men to the status of heroes and builds big organizations from modest beginnings.
The personal drive was the realization of a promise made by a loving father to his daughter, who had dared to dream of a management school that would serve as a model for India's youth and would arise from their combined efforts, but unfortunately did not survive to see it realized. The father was Prof. J. Philip, who had established himself in the field of management education as Director of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore from 1985 to 1991. The daughter was Maria Philip, a young university student with extraordinary potential and tremendous idealism. He spearheaded a group of like-minded individuals in establishing a school that his late daughter had dreamed of, five years after Maria passed away in a terrible accident.
That group of seasoned experts was the embodiment of the modest but resilient entrepreneurial spirit that led to the establishment of XIME. Among them were professionals, scholars, and devout members of the Catholic Church.
In order to transform the institution from its humble beginnings to what it is today—a model school for India's growing youth and a force to be reckoned with on the B school map of India—XIME, its staff, and the students salute their vision and devotion.
